Wesak
Day

This
week, TV SMITH shares some of his recent Wesak Day pictures and offers some
shooting tips for the occasion...
For
shutterbugs, Wesak Day offered irresistible
photographic opportunities. Since the celebrations
involved a night time street procession, I
checked out the route a day earlier. I brought
along a small tripod for slow shutter speed
use, as many of the photogenic moments were
in the dim temple interiors or outside after
dark.
I
also wore a pair of easily removable sandals
as footwear is not allowed in various parts
of the holy grounds. One final tip: respect
the worshippers by not firing your camera
indiscriminately or behaving nosily inside
the temples.
All pics were taken around the Buddhist
temples in Brickfields and Jalan Gasing. Olympus C8080 digital camera courtesy of Olympus

Update: Map with directions, pic and info of the Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple in Brickfields. Go there.

A
row of statutes, an enticing picture
opportunity. Frame selectively to
emphasise the duplication.
