Lantern (Mooncake) Festival at the MPSJ
field. A family having fun lighting
up candles as fast as the wind snuffs
it. A preliminary shot (with flash)
from eye-level captured very little
of the festive atmosphere (left).
Story: Get curious,
get involved.
Bringing the camera this low and slow,
required a mini-tripod. In this case,
the camera was mounted on a Manfrotto
222 joystick head with mini-legs. By
using the daylight colour temperature
preset, the warm tones created by the
candles are enhanced. The overhead flood
lights kept the grass green and produced
a very slight but nice bluish halo.
