Amputated

Driving along the LDP Highway yesterday afternoon, I saw these stumps of amputated trees near KDU (left). The light wasn't ideal but I took some shots anyway.

Story: Combining day and night.
Later in the evening, there was a bright full moon, which I photographed from my balcony (bottom left). In a spur of the moment decision, I combined the two pics digitally. The glow behind the clouds was created by extreme blurring and distortion of a white dot placed on a third layer.

Canon G1, ISO 50, f8, 1/1000 (trees) f2.5, 1/320 (moon)
