Hindus in Malaysia and most countries
celebrate Deepavali or the Festival
Of Lights on the 24th of October, this
year. One of the many shops selling
decorative lights in Brickfields, Kuala
Lumpur, provided the perfect setting
for this photography outing. View the
entire series of pics here.
Story: Last minute shopping, last minute
shooting...
The heavy traffic in the area resulted
in much obstruction between the camera
and the subject (left). I was shooting
from the middle road divider and the
passing vehicles seemed endless at one
point. Luckily, there was a quick break
and I managed to squeeze in this shot
(above).
Tip: One of the minor disadvantages
of most digital P&S cameras is the
relatively slow shutter response or
lag. To workaround it, you'll need to
learn how to fire in advance, in anticipation.
A bit tricky with fast moving subjects
(like vehicles) but since no film is
used, practise by firing away.
