Above
Full Moon,
is the upcoming local musical featuring
stylish choreography, elaborate costumes
and top-notch singing. I attended several
rehearsals to document the efforts of
this talented and determined group.
Story: Self-rehearsal
The
rehearsal venue, a dance studio, was
inadequately lit and I was forced to
use the cam's top ISO rating of 400.
Even with the aperture wide open, I
didn't have a 'useable' shutter speed.
To overcome the limitations, I observed
the dancers and mapped out my position
over several 'runs'. By juxtaposing
a momentarily static pose with fast
background movement, the picture (above)
captured both the intensity and fluidity
of the scene.
