THE
HAZARD by
TV Smith 27/04/05
To get
to last night's The Selling,
I braved rain, thunder and crazed motorists. At one point, it was like sailing
down the muddy Chao Praya except for that toll plaza in the middle. The greatest
danger was not the rapidly rising water but motorists who sped in front with blinking
hazard lights.
With reduced visibility, it was hard to tell which vehicle
had stalled or was moving. Despite regular reminders over radio, many still continue
turning their hazard lights into a hazard itself. Malaysians habour repressed
fantasies of being emergency vehicle drivers or what?
Addendum:
Come to think of it; I wrote about this in 1999's Mixed
Signals. Nothing much has changed since...
