The
magnificent Ubudiah Mosque in Kuala
Kangsar, the royal town
of Perak. Sultan Idris, the then State
Ruler and British Resident, Sir Hugh
Low, laid the foundation of the mosque
in 1913. The completion was delayed
as some rogue elephants reportedly ran
amok and destroyed the imported Italian
marble floor.
Story: Silhouettes
& minarets
This venerable landmark
is almost always photographed from the
same few angles (left). Looking for
a less conventional view, I walked around
the building and found the sun appearing
at the right place and time (above).
The orange hue was subsequently added
in post.
