Midnight
revelry at Dataran Merdeka
on the eve of the 47th Merdeka Day (Independence
Day).
Story: On the
wrong side
I arrived at the venue
about an hour earlier armed with only
a table-top tripod. Inquired with a
City Hall officer as to the directions
of the fireworks and scouted around
for a spot. Found a ledge on the bottom
half of one of those fancy streetlights,
eventually. Like most things Malaysian,
the fireworks started ten minutes late,
and on the wrong side. It was a feast
for the eyes and cameras, nevertheless.
