NAVARATHRI
 



     
 


For nine days Hindus around the world celebrate Navarathri, the worship of the three goddesses: Shakti, Lakshmi and Saraswathi who represent courage, wealth and knowledge respectively. The Temple of Fine Arts in Kuala Lumpur staged a series of performances in celebration.

Story: A sculptural pose
The South Indian classical dance, Bharathanatyam is an unique blend of eyes, emotions, expressions and gestures. An irresistible but challenging subject for the camera. To isolate the main subject, I used selective focus with the surrounding dancers acting as a 'frame'.
