Loh was understandably perplexed by a
comment made by one her readers that some sort
of "thing" was going on between us.
To clear the air, to promote transparency and
to instill public confidence in blogging, Singapore-style,
I reproduce (without her permission) our correspondence...
Hey Terrence,
Apparently
we have a "thing" going on.
Are we copulating and was I present? Seemed to
have
missed it. I am a dopehead so the lights are on
but
nobody's home.
Check

Ahh...
Wattodoo?? (to quote my favourite Star columnist,
Andrew Sia). The
price of 'make-believe' fame. With every famous
artistic liaison, the rumour
mill worked overtime; Doris Day with Rod Hudson,
Jessica Lange with King
Kong, and lately, our very own national sweetheart,
Siti with a blue
hippopotamus.... Que Sera Sera.
But
nevertheless, historically there were some interesting
'copulation of
ideas' arising from unlikely partnerships; musicians
Elton John & Bernie
Taupin, film critics Ebert & Siskel and ventriloquist
Jimmy Nelson & his
wisecracking wooden dummy, Danny O' Day. Sorry;
off hand, I can't think of
any memorable heterosexual couples...
Funnily,
another regular visitor to my site wanted to know,
if the girl I
was coupling in the car (in my "Peeping
Tans" article) was Woody. She's not
convinced that you and I would blogged about vehicular
copulation by sheer
co-incidence.
I
think the only 'thingy' we have in common is that
we both like to copulate
(with someone else, of course) in front of our
pets. My nine cats don't seem
to mind watching though, except for one particular
canine-inspired
position....
