Migrant workers and a local. The Olympus SP 550 is ideal for street photography with its small size and big zoom. For this tricky picture, the ESP metering required a -0.7 EV trim to keep the highlights under control. Exposure compensation is easily accomplished with a couple of presses and the electronic viewfinder comes in handy.

Prayers for the New Year . Smoke, flame and daylight resulted in a very subtle range of tones. I used the long end of the zoom for shallow depth-of-field. A street model. This stranger posed happily from across the street. Spot on auto white balance required no user intervention. The exposure however required a minus one stop adjustment. I enabled the "frame assist" grid lines to help align the vertical lines behind her.
