SP 550
Prosperity Toss. The Yee Sang dish is raw fish with vegetable salad, a Chinese New Year delicacy (unique to Malaysia). Thousands of people congregated for this giant street buffet. ISO 400 is relatively noisy but useable.

  SP 550
Noisy ISO 800 was the only way to get a candid shot of this ceremonial dancer from a distance. Noise appeared like film grain, if it is of any consolation. I manually set the white balance to tungsten preset as the incandescent lighting resulted in a strong yellow cast under Auto WB.
Olympus SP 550 UZ, ISO 800, 1/125 sec, f 4.5

  SP 550
Mobile Phone vs dSLR. The press pack in action as the Deputy Prime Minister dips into the dish. The event is another silly Malaysian record breaking attempt with the buffet table extending to half a kilometer. A tilt and swivel LCD ought to be included on the SP 550 and all cameras with live view.
